ScreenApp founder launches Carevo helping Australians find the right care provider faster
Spotlight Founder Story: Andre Dean Smith
18 June, 2026
A new platform built by ScreenApp founder Andre Dean Smith is helping Australians find National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and aged care providers faster by simplifying one of the most fragmented parts of the care journey.
Carevo connects careseekers with available local providers by suburb and service type, giving families a faster way to find support at moments when time, clarity and trust matter most.
For many Australians, the search for care begins during a stressful life moment: a new NDIS plan, a hospital discharge, a parent suddenly needing help at home, or a family member trying to access the right support quickly.
But the process is often manual and difficult to navigate. Families may spend days or weeks ringing around, searching outdated directories, waiting for callbacks or relying on word of mouth to find a provider who is available and suitable.
“We watched family members deal with the same broken process every day,” Andre said. “Families ringing around for weeks while providers sat with empty capacity. The connection layer just didn’t exist, so we built it.”
Carevo is designed to work like a “HiPages for care”. Careseekers search by suburb and service, and their enquiry is matched with up to five relevant providers. The platform is free for careseekers, while providers pay a flat monthly subscription to receive qualified leads.
Andre said the model was built to serve both sides of the care market: families and participants who need clearer pathways to support, and providers who are trying to reach the right people without relying on expensive pay-per-click advertising.
“In care, speed is everything. The provider who responds first wins, and most take days. Our AI intake agent answers in seconds, around the clock,” Andre said.
The platform’s digital intake agent answers calls and qualifies leads 24/7, helping providers respond faster while giving families a clearer first step when they are searching for support with a median connection time of 11 minutes.
Since launching 10 weeks ago, Carevo has connected more than 3,500 careseekers and reached 300 paying providers. The company has also grown to more than $1.4M in annual recurring revenue in that time, entirely self-funded through profits from ScreenApp.
Carevo’s provider base ranges from allied health practitioners to national franchise networks. Jim’s Group is among the organisations using the platform to route Carevo leads through its own franchise network.
Support coordinators are also becoming an important referral channel for Carevo, with the platform helping them quickly identify suitable providers for their clients.
Carevo is Andre’s second company after ScreenApp, the AI platform he built to help people turn recordings into structured, searchable knowledge.
ScreenApp was built from Australia, backed by Antler in 2023 and supported through the UNSW Founders 10x Accelerator. The company has since grown to more than seven million users and around $3 million in annual recurring revenue, and now runs without Andre day-to-day allowing full focus on building Carevo
“Carevo is growing 10 times faster than ScreenApp at the same stage, because we’re running the playbook a second time without the early mistakes,” Andre said.
Carevo represents the next step in Andre’s founder journey: taking what he has learned from one high-growth startup and applying it to a new, complex and deeply human problem.
Unlike many startups at this stage, Carevo has not raised external capital. ScreenApp funds it. “If we ever raise, it’ll be to match the opportunity, not to survive,” Andre said.
For Andre, the opportunity is about making the care system easier to navigate for people who are often searching for help at a vulnerable moment.
“Families should not have to ring around for weeks to find support. And providers with capacity should not be invisible to the people who need them.”
Carevo is now focused on expanding its provider network and helping more Australians find care faster.
