The mark of an upcoming Founder on LinkedIn

Mid-year goals have been achieved in different ways for UNSW Founders and for many of our wonderful program participants. That’s why we want to celebrate their achievements!

We have issued 360 digital badges for 4 of our programs that have run so far this year: Research Making Impact (RMI), Peter Farrell Cup (PFC) and the Pre-Accelerator (Pre-x) & New Wave (NW)

The fourth cohort of Research Making Impact (RMI) which is a collaboration between UNSW Knowledge Exchange and UNSW Founders program, saw 21 multidiscipline UNSW academics successfully complete the program with the contributions of mentors and Impact Champions who shared their expertise and experience in achieving impact. The Research Making Impact (RMI) program is open to all UNSW academics. You can find out more and apply here.

The Peter Farrell Cup (PFC), UNSW's most prestigious competitive ideas program fast-tracking the next generation of entrepreneurs and start-ups saw its 21st cohort graduate this year.  A total of 77 successful teams and 230 participants were supported through the program, 56 teams attended the Pitch Fest, and 10 top teams were selected for final pitches and prizes. As every year, we are incredibly grateful for the generous contribution of the Farrell Family Foundation that make this competition possible and provide a $20,000 cash prize pool to help the winners take their ideas to the next level.

The Pre-x Program also had a wonderful cohort this year! The program is run in partnership with The George Institute for Global Health. Fifty teams - 111 founders - participated in a 5-week program to prepare themselves for our flagship 10x and Health 10x Accelerator Program. We had 25 industry agnostic teams and 25 health teams. This year the focus was on getting investment ready. We also introduced the Impact Award to highlight the importance of their social impact and sustainability approach. Twelve teams have since been invited to the Accelerator Program which is now in full swing

The New Wave Program recently celebrated graduating 317 participants in 4 years. Beyond launching a startup, New Wave has led many women to find careers in corporate, global tech companies like Google, Canva, Eucalyptus, Mckinsey, Macquarie, Commbank, Xero, MYOB, Qualtrix, EY, Credit Suiss, WooliesX, Telstra, KPMG & and even in UNSW's own portfolio startups Share With Oscar & Aerologix.

“I just scored my dream job through Hatch as a graduate Product Designer at Domain! I used our team’s startup, EndoME, from the New Wave Program as my case study and presented it during my interview. I start next Monday and wanted to say thank you for all of your help and support!!! Without new wave I wouldn’t have had this opportunity so I really appreciate it. I learnt so much and it sparked my curiosity for all things product design” Katarina Trgovcevic (New Wave Cohort 5)

Congratulations to all our amazing program participants so far in 2021! We encourage you all receiving these digital badges to let them shine on LinkedIn, so we all know the Founders of the future to look out for!
