Peter Farrell Cup launchpad to startup success factory

The Peter Farrell Cup (PFC) is UNSW’s longest running student-led and teams-based competitive ideas program. As it enters its twenty-second year, we look back at some of the top entrepreneurial talent the PFC has fostered, and the startups that owe their start to winning the Peter Farrell Cup.

Powering energy from waste: P2X (2019 PFC Winner)

Major prize winner of the 2019 Peter Farrell Cup P2X went on to complete Startmate’s sustainability accelerator. Founder Constantine Tsounis progressed the P2X concept to switchH2, a VC-backed spin off creating catalyst technology which converts brewery wastewater into hydrogen, a clean burning fuel.

Taking a Conscious Step towards social change: Conscious Step (2013 PFC Winner)

From humble beginnings winning the 2013 Peter Farrell Cup, charitable sock startup Conscious Step has funded 500,000 trees planted, 82,000+ meals for kids in refugee camps and over 52,000 books. It is now a multi-million dollar charitable operation, thanks to the efforts of its UNSW founding team Hassan Amad and Adam Long. They even made a Business Insider’s list of New York’s top 29 hottest new ventures
