Yellowbox offers free contactless smart lockers to retailers

In light of COVID-19, Yellowbox has developed new capabilities for its network of smart-lockers. Traditionally used for those short-term storage purposes like when you’re at the beach or on a night out, these contactless smart lockers now enable businesses to deposit their goods into a Yellowbox for customer pick up with no need for human contact.

“The simple task of handing goods over to a customer holds great risk to both employees and customer in this time of social distancing”, says co-founder Ho Jun Tang, a position he shares with three other UNSW affiliated co-founders, Adrian Brossard, Vanessa Zhao, and Ben Delaney. “Our new smart lockers enable retailers to continue trading and minimise the potential risk of contact.”

Secondary marketplaces like Facebook Marketplace, eBay and Gumtree, where buyers and sellers incur delivery costs are also benefitting from this smart technology “Sellers can now organise merchandise pick up via a smart Yellowbox locker merely by sharing a link with their buyers.”

Yellowbox is initially launching the new smart-lockers at five convenient locations across the CBD and Randwick, with more to be rolled out across the city, Bondi and Olympic Park.

Yellowbox is providing contactless pick-up and collection smart lockers at no cost to retailers during COVID-19. Contact the team via https://yellowbox.app/contactus to find out more.

Yellowbox are proud participants of the UNSW Founders programs, including the Peter Farrell Cup, the 10x Accelerator and Coach & Connect
