UNSW Founders startups named Australian Technologies Competition 2020 finalists

Three UNSW Founders startups have been announced as Australian Technologies Competition 2020 finalists.

In the Global Social Impact category, 4eyes Vision has been selected for their system containing everything people without prior training require to test, assemble and dispense affordable prescription spectacles to the one billion visually impaired people living in developing and remote communities worldwide.

Finalists in the Space category, include Contactile for their bio-inspired soft tactile sensor array which gives robots a human sense of touch enabling them to handle objects of varying size, shape, weight and surface material just as people do, and  High Earth Orbiting (HEO) Robotics which helps satellite operators manage their satellites by collecting visual data from cameras mounted on other satellites and then finding faults.

The Australian Technologies Competition seeks to identify and accelerate Australian technology 'scaleups' with the greatest global potential. It brings experienced entrepreneurs, business builders, angel investors, venture capital funds, commercialisation experts, leading corporates and government representatives together with founders, and focuses on equipping founders with the skills and contacts to develop and manage high growth companies in challenging international markets.

Australian Technologies Competition 2020 winners will be announced 20 October.

Contactile has also made it through the screening process into the semi-finals of the Asian Entrepreneurship Awards with the winners announced 29 October.

4eyes Vision is currently participating in the Health 10x Accelerator program; Contactile is currently participating in the 10x Accelerator program; HEO Robotics participated in the inaugural 10x Accelerator in 2018 and is currently an Entrepreneur in Residence.
