AstraZeneca, Health 10x & SynBio 10x join forces to provide 250+ mentors to health and SynBio startups

In a landmark announcement, Health 10x and SynBio 10x have forged a partnership with global pharmaceutical AstraZeneca to provide unprecedented access to a network of over 250 mentors from Australia, New Zealand, and around the world.

“We are excited to empower our Health 10x startups with access to leading experts globally through our partnership with AstraZeneca,” said Health 10x Program Manager, Dina Titkova. “UNSW Founders launched the Health10x accelerator in partnership with The George Institute for Global Health, providing startups with a growing network of experts. Connecting our startups to experienced industry mentors is what sets Health 10x apart for many of our founders, and it’s a benefit we’re proud to provide.”

“AstraZeneca is always keen to support innovation across the entire healthcare ecosystem that will improve patient outcomes and experience,” said Kumaran Mani, Business Development Associate Director (AstraZeneca) and Co-Lead of the A.Catalyst Network Australia-New Zealand.

“Since the UNSW Founders program is one of the leading accelerator programs in Australia that supports life sciences, medical devices and digital health startup ecosystems, AstraZeneca is proud to collaborate with UNSW Founders,” said Kumaran.

“Through the launch of SynBio 10x, we’re eager to offer synthetic biology and biotechnology startups access to mentors from a well-established pharmaceutical company like AstraZeneca,” said Jason Whitfield, Program Manager of SynBio 10x. “These kinds of industry connections allow our founders to effectively validate their inventions, and commercialise their research.”

“As innovators develop their ideas into viable solutions that will potentially transform how patient care is delivered, it’s critical that the ecosystem around them support their endeavors,” said Kumaran. “AstraZeneca’s mentoring program is one such support which will help innovators to draw upon expertise and experience from across the world. Such knowledge-sharing could come from the entire healthcare value chain, whether this involves R&D, clinicals trials, digital, regulatory, market access , innovation, or business development. In a nutshell, this mentoring program is all about connecting Australian local innovation needs with global expertise and experience that can address them.”

Health 10x & SynBio 10x founders will gain access to AstraZeneca’s panel of over 250 mentors, each with a wide range of skills, experiences, and knowledge to share.
