We’re shining a light on UNSW Founders alumni and portfolio company Evidentli, a health tech startup that helps hospitals turn their real-world data into knowledge so that doctors always have the latest evidence they need.
Founded in 2018, the company has a mission to empower the world's communities to advance healthcare through technology. Their unique technology, a result of over 15 years of industry-leading innovation, cleanses, aggregates, and harmonises real-world clinical data using open standards and fit-for-purpose AI technologies, data warehousing, and analytics.

The healthcare industry has been plagued by data silos and a lack of standardisation. Evidentli aims to solve these problems by providing a platform that standardises complex healthcare data and text with over 99% reliability in days, not months. With Evidentli's technology, doctors, nurses, researchers, and healthcare managers can quickly and accurately mine knowledge from real-world patient data. The company's offerings include AI-powered data automation that cleanses, federates, and standardises data, as well as research automation tools that group, screen, compare, and summarise data to generate live evidence for clinicians, policymakers, and others.
The company's founders are Greg Miner, Alison Gartner, Prof. Enrico Coeira, and Dr. Guy Tsafnat. Greg Miner is the CEO and brings a wealth of experience as a senior enterprise software executive with a track record of scaling global organisations. He is a former CEO of a high-growth cloud software company and General Manager of an ASX listed health informatics company, and has previously held executive roles at Microsoft and Apple. Greg holds a bachelor’s degree in science from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of New South Wales.
Alison Gartner is the CFO of Evidentli and has over 16 years of experience in the Australian healthcare start-up sector working on family office, venture capital investing and establishing healthcare funds. She is on the board of the National Foundation for Medical Research and Innovation. Alison holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and an honor's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the Australian National University.
Prof. Enrico Coeira is the Director of Evidentli and is a pioneer and key opinion leader in health informatics globally and in Australia. He is the Director for the Centre for Health Informatics and NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence in eHealth at Macquarie University, the founder of the Australian College of Health Informatician, and the author of the Guide to Health Informatics. Enrico is one of only 10 past François Grémy Award of Excellence recipients conferred by the International Medical Informatics Association.
Dr. Guy Tsafnat is the Chief Scientific Officer of Evidentli and the inventor of the company's technology. Originally an AI and cybersecurity expert from Silicon Valley, Guy co-leads the FHIR to OMOP harmonization working group at HL7 and OHDSI, is a senior member of the editorial board of Elsevier's Journal of Biomedical Informatics and member of the advisory board of the Australasian Institute for Digital Health. He also co-founded the International Collaboration for Automation of Systematic Reviews (ICASR) and holds an Adjunct Fellow position at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, Macquarie University. Guy has published over a hundred academic papers and is at the forefront of international efforts to automate evidence synthesis processes.
