Digital Makers Comp: $10k awarded in micro-grants
The Digital Makers Competition recently came to a close with an exciting pitch night, and $10k awarded in micro-grants to the successful makers.
And the winners are….

With 120 applications coming across our desks, we admitted 60 people into the competition in a mix of teams and individuals.
The free competition was open to all students and staff across all disciplines and required no skill or pre-existing team. It was tailor-made for people who wanted to build and showcase their digital-making skills with tools as early as drawing, to Figma, Unity, and beyond.
UNSW Founders welcomed people from all skill levels, with the desire to build wholly or partly digital, code or no-code, design-only or development-ready, terrible and early, or exceptional and polished. Participants were shown how to level up fundamental digital prototyping skills and showcased their ongoing developments.
Participants were given access to facilities through three in-person workshops, feedback, and mentoring.
Running for six weeks, participants spent their time focussing on how they could best demonstrate progress, community contribution, creativity and innovation, and usability as they worked towards refining their pitches for judging on the culminating evening.
The pitch night was attended by more than 100 people, and 15 presentations from our digital makers were shown across the evening.
