Sovereign Gallium and Germanium recovery and refining technology: securing supply chains

Gega Elements is a NSW-based deep-tech startup developing proprietary refining technology to recover high-purity gallium and germanium from mining residues and refinery by-products. These critical minerals are essential for semiconductors, defence electronics, EVs, AI and space systems, yet face geopolitical constraints and supply risks due to monopoly producers and sanctions. By building sovereign supply chains, Gega Elements strengthens national security, supports advanced manufacturing and positions Australia as a reliable global supplier of critical materials.

Achievements:

1- Filed three provisional patents for critical mineral recovery technology. 2- Reached TRL 4 lab validation with pathway to TRL 5 pilot. 3- Secured MoU and engaged major mining partners.
