Bio-based Materials for Sustainable Plastic Alternatives.
Sprout Materials produces innovative bioplastics to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and fossil fuel consumption. We have proprietary chemistry developed at the Australian National University to produce bio-based materials that enable production of sustainable plastic alternatives. Sprout Materials is currently developing its first commercial product, a bio-based material that can be incorporated into conventional foam manufacturing or used on its own to produce 100% bio-based foams for packaging and furniture applications. Our materials offer significant advantages over current materials, included reduced greenhouse gas emissions and improved end of life outcomes, for comparable cost. Our goal is to disrupt the trillion-dollar plastic industry with our sustainable materials, and hopefully leave the Earth healthier than we found it. We’re looking to connect with contract manufacturers and aim to open a funding round.
